the one and only br*og™

branding, inc. is launching its very own br*og (brand + blog) where we will explore and discuss the theories, value and overall world of branding.  We will delve into global brands, showcase up and coming brands that are making a mark and above all else create a dialogue and forum for the powerful yet sometimes overused and miss-understood concept of “branding.”

and you may ask, who are “we” to talk about branding.  i, suzie, principle at branding, inc. have spent my career in the world of brands.  i’m a self confessed brand advocate.  i truly believe in the concept of branding, and have spent my career passionately developing multifaceted brands of all shapes and sizes.  i live, eat and breath brands whether I’m working on behalf of a client, or at the grocery store or mall, online or watching television, my brain sees the world through brands.  we are strong advocates of “emotional branding”  (more on this in a later post) and infuse all our work with both strategy and design equally.  we are very passionate about our projects, our clients and the overall concept of branding, and how it can positively impact your business.

suzanna, the creative director for branding, inc., also affectionately referred to as right-brain, is the co-author of our br*og.  throughout our posts we will strive to share unique right and left brain point-of-views on our discussion topics, as you will see it can be very interesting!

the other side of the spectrum (although admittedly not too far) is me,  suzanna — the minister of aesthetics. I walk through life compelled and sucked in by graphics and visuals every second; noticing details and contemplating techniques and treatment quietly in my head — lest someone hear the wacky conversations going on about what font that is, or how cleverly that spot varnish was placed, to even how beautiful that crown molding is. While I am very much a right-brained, creative and visual person, I am equally invested and immersed in how people connect and respond to graphics — to the very solutions we as creatives propose visually to some of the industry’s toughest problems.

I’m a firm believer that great graphic design, great branding is not arrived at through logic — but reaches an undeniable truth, an emotional connection. The best graphic design, the best branding however does more than just grab your attention, or make you linger, or tug at your heart strings. It perpetuates the encounter and compels you to not only be cognizant, but to remember. And after all, isn’t remembering and retelling of the story the best form of connecting?

Our br*og will be opinionated at times, unbiased other times but with each and every post we invite your feedback, thoughts and ideas.  Here we go…two feet into the world of blogging!
